Mayfield is a social enterprise manufacturing musical instruments, offering work placements for young people with autism and learning disabilities.
Based in Sheffield, England we are a social enterprise set up by charity Autism Plus.
We manufacture high quality musical instruments that we sell worldwide.
Each instrument is handcrafted by a small team from our workshop in Sheffield. Every member of our Mayfield team has a passion for excellent quality instruments, and a determination to make a change in the lives of people with autism and learning disabilities.
Established in 1970, our Mayfield engineers have perfected the craft of making precision Bell Lyres, Glockenspiels, Metallophones, and Chimes.
We are so confident in the resilience and quality that we offer a 'Lifetime Guarantee' with all of our instruments.
Supporting Young People Into Work
Research shows over 70% of people with autism and learning disabilities want to work,
however only 16% of people with autism are in meaningful employment.
We offer vocational work placements at our engineering workshop in
Sheffield for young adults who have autism,
learning disabilities and associated conditions.
Our talented team pride themselves on being part of the
journey to improve those statistics, we are proud to offer support
that enables people to achieve more than they thought was possible.
The inspiring staff at Mayfield instil confidence and encourage our trainees to use machines and tools, and teach valuable life skills needed for the world of work.
